Plant-Based Skincare: Does BioClarity Work?

PLANT-BASED SKINCARE

AN HONEST REVIEW OF BIOCLARITY’S ESSENTIALS ROUTINE

I’ve struggled with red, blotchy skin since I was just a tween. I even had bad acne through my high school years, which let’s face it, only makes your life more of a challenge. But I was never the kind of girl that would dish out money to buy the latest trend or high-end brands. I was always a skeptic and believed these products never worked, that it was all just paid advertising and hype. I frugally stuck to the basic drugstore makeup and skin care such as Neutrogena or Loreal because even if it didn’t work like the ad said it would, I wouldn’t be out $40 with buyer’s remorse. So when I saw the reviews about BioClarity, I was curious but instinctively skeptical..

What drew me to BioClarity after seeing it come up on social media (I’m a visual person - seeing a picture repeatedly will most likely stick with me), was its tagline for being a vegan, paraben-free, plant-based skincare system. The main focus of the ingredients is their signature Floralux complex using naturally derived chlorophyll to tackle blemishes. Think of it as a vegan version of Proactiv. I was tired of the harsh chemicals and never finding the right balance. Either my skin was too oily or too dry and break out no matter what. So when I read the reviews from other people suffering from the same problem and how this skincare routine helped with their acne and redness, I had to test it out for myself.

It was an incredibly fast delivery and arrived in this cute, eco-friendly packaging (bonus points). After finishing up the last of my current skincare product, I made the switch to BioClarity - still skeptical at this point.

THE ESSENTIALS ROUTINE:

Step 1: Cleanse

Step 2: Restore

Step 3: Hydrate

Twice a week: Clarifying Masque

I use this right after cleansing. Leave on 20-30 minutes then rinse and pat dry. I follow it up with the remaining steps.
TIP: It may stain your fingers green but will wash off.

The first week went by and so far I was not impressed. In fact, I almost stopped using it. Every winter my skin becomes a nightmare. It was SO dry that it hurt. But I knew this wasn’t entirely because of the product and that a week was too soon to write it off especially if your skin is detoxing from the last routine. Hair and skin can react in different ways when it’s transitioning to a new product. So I persisted. It’s been almost a month now and I’m still using it. I discovered the cure for my dry skin (Bag Balm - seriously, within two days my dry skin and chapped lips were gone - not plant-based though) and paired it with BioClarity’s Essentials Routine and I’ll admit it.. I’m impressed. I really wanted to prove that it was all hype but I can’t. The biggest difference I’ve seen so far has been the reduced redness and blotchy patches. I’ve never felt confident enough to leave the house without makeup because people would immediately say: you look tired, are you feeling okay?…

YES Susan, I’m fine and no I’m not dying.

I’m sure you know what I’m talking about.. My goal is to get my skin back to a healthy balance where I don’t feel the need to cake on makeup every. single. day…. Hence why I’m impressed with this product because that goal is so much more attainable now.

As for breakouts, I’ve eliminated a lot of the excess sugar I had been eating and increasing my intake of water - both of which can have a huge impact on skin. I’m not gonna say it’s the miracle cure or that I have had no pimples at all cause that’s just not true. But it has decreased significantly. Even around a certain time of the month when my skin is the absolute worst (hormones and stress), it was minimal - probably the clearest my skin has ever been during those times. So it’s hard not to recommend this product with how impressed I am, especially after being so sure it wouldn’t work.

I say these things, but I also know everyone is different and so is their skin. If you have found the perfect skincare routine and are happy with it, that’s great! I’m not writing this as a sponsored or paid advertisement telling you that your life is not complete until you buy this, but I know the struggles of imperfect skin and how hard it is to find the right balance. This may not work for you or might be just right, I only know how my skin responded to it and I’m gonna stick with it for a while. :)
